Vajrasattva Meditation Retreat
October 29, 2010 @ 12:00 am - October 31, 2010 @ 12:00 am
The retreat will be led by retreat master Drupon Rinpoche in the spacious and rolling grasslands of Sonoita, AZ. We will be focusing on Vajrasattva purification practice from the preliminary practices of the incomparable Drikung Kagyu.
Vajrasattva meditation is a special practice for the purification of non-virtuous causes. Non-virtue follows us like a shadow, life after life and becomes the source of all sufferings. Therefore, it is very wise to purify all non-virtues we create before they come to fruition.
In this purification practice we use the four powers of remorse, resolve, antidote and reliance. This in-turn prepares us to progress along the path of enlightenment.
We are privileged to have Venerable Drupon Rinchen Dorje Rinpoche, current three-year retreat master at Garchen Institute, to bestow the empowerment, teach and guide us in a retreat setting. The retreat begins Friday at 7:00am and ends on Sunday at 5:00pm. There will be a Vajrasattva empowerment ceremony Saturday morning at 9:00am. The empowerment is recommended but not required to participate in this retreat.
