Mahamudra Practice Instruction and Open Retreat

With Drupon Rinchen Dorje Rinpoche

Saturday-Saturday, January 21-28, 2017

Drupon Rinchen Dorje

We are pleased to announce a very special teaching and practice retreat with Drupon Rinchen Dorje Rinpoche in the beauty and tranquility of the desert southwest. This open retreat will take place in late January during Tucson’s mild and very pleasant winter months.

Rinpoche will be teaching from the extensive Mahamudra chapter
included in the famous Words of Vajradhara Dharmakirti: A Record
of Instructions on Five-Fold Mahamudra by the 17th century
meditation master, Lho Trinley Namgyal. These instructions have
been the main Mahamudra instructions received and practiced in
Drikung Kagyü three-year retreats for centuries. We are extremely
fortunate to be able to receive these from a retreat master who has received and realized such traditional training.

Some of the main topics included in these extremely profound mahamudra instructions are: Calm Abiding, Special Insight, Becoming Certain about the Various Appearances of the Mind, Cutting Through Misconcep- tions About the Energy of the Ground, Introduction to the Nature of the Mind, Introduction to the Co-emergence of Thoughts, Introduction to the Coemergence of Appearances, Introduction to the Co-emergent Nature of Mind, Explanation of the Faults of Meditation, Recognizing the Fresh Ordinary Mind, Way to Take Things on to the Path, Four Yogas of Mahamudra, and Enhancing Realization.
